Article 11 of the "Compulsory Education Law" stipulates that for children who have reached the age of six, their parents or other legal guardians shall send them to school to receive and complete compulsory education. Measures of Jiangsu Province for Implementing the "Compulsory Education Law of the People's Republic of China" (adopted at the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh People's Congress of Jiangsu Province on September 29, 2010) Article 8 is clear. Parents or other guardians of children who have reached the age of six before one day (including August 31) should send them to school to receive and complete compulsory education. Education departments and schools at all levels in our province have performed their responsibilities under the legal framework for many years, strictly enrolling students in accordance with the law, and ensuring that children and adolescents of the appropriate age receive nine-year compulsory education.
